About Patricia Olson
I was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 30, 1961. As a young child, I lived in the Californian Mountains and enjoyed the beautiful wilderness there. Since my family returned to Missouri, I have lived in Cass County for twenty five years. I am a self taught artist who has had the passion for art my whole life. My mother showed me the beauty of nature and my father would sit and draw with me at the kitchen table. I knew even in grade school that I wanted to pursue art as a career and was reprimanded for selling my drawings to other students. I have always used all mediums and specializes in landscapes and nature including pets and other animals. In addition to my many canvas paintings, I have created several large murals in my own home. Today, I live in Archie with my seventeen year old son and pets. My two other children have ventured out into the world. One an twenty two year old daughter, is now in college, and the other, a thirty one year old son, who is in the Air Force, has made me the proud grandmother of two boys. While raising my kids, it was difficult to find time for my art but now I am in my studio or outside painting every day and I love what I do.
